…One Less Scene

I love getting paid to ride my motorcycle all day, but I also like to drive my car for work when it’s super cold and wet, because I can listen to NPR all day with the heater on. My co-worker Lee, though, rides his motorcycle no matter how shitty the weather gets. He recently retired his DL650 with over 120,000 miles on the original motor, and now he rides a sort of Frankenbike that started out as a CB600… although it has a mystery front wheel, a front fairing that is actually an ancient Hewlett Packard computer monitor, and a Nalgene bottle for a coolant reservoir. Lee is a custom metal fabricator, and he also removed the bike’s mono-shock and welded on dual shocks from a different bike, he made a battery tray out of some scraps and a pair of cheap pliers, and he’s welded a huge rack onto the bike that is comprised of miscellaneous bicycle parts. The subframe of the bike is made of a handrail from a climbing gym. For a final touch of visual artistry, he’s painted the bike avocado green, sky blue, and red. Amazing.
